The Cathedral and COVID-19

St. John’s Cathedral is endeavoring to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic with faith, hope, courage, and love.

At this time, our building is closed to all but essential personnel. Sunday morning worship is offered via livestream on our Facebook page. We hope you will join us!

Although the building is closed, Cathedral ministries continue. Committees are meeting remotely. People are using various technologies to keep in touch. Across the week and in many ways, we are praying, serving Christ, and caring for each other and for our world.

We are following the guidance of our Bishop, the Right Rev. Gretchen Rehberg, and our Governor, Jay Inslee, along with guidelines from the Spokane Regional Health District.

Bishop Rehberg sent each of the churches of the Episcopal Diocese of Spokane a Pastoral Letter on April 30, outlining the seasons of transition as we consider gathering for in-person worship. You may read that letter HERE. At this time, we are in Season One.

Governor Inslee has issued general guidelines for workplaces and businesses, along with specific guidelines for communities of faith. At this time, Spokane County is in Phase Two of Safe Start.

As we consider how to gather safely in person, we ask you to join us in praying for our world during this uncertain time.
