St. John's Cathedral has long been known for its fine liturgical music. At the very heart of its music ministries are our choirs, who enhance our worship and liturgy as they offer music to the Glory of God.
Questions about any of the choirs can be directed to Andrea Olsen, Director of Music Ministry.
Our annual service of Advent Lessons and Carols was presented virtually in December 2020. You can watch that video here.
Cathedral Choir
The Cathedral Choir sings weekly for the 10:30am Sunday Choral Eucharist, September through June, as well as for special festivals and Diocesan events hosted at the Cathedral. The Choir’s repertoire is made up of classic sacred music. The choir has also premiered contemporary choral music composed by gifted members of the choir. Membership in the Choir is open to all.

Handbell Choir
Our handbell choir, the Cathedral Ringers, is currently looking for a new director. It was formed in 1998 with the gift of three octaves of handbells from Judge and Mrs. George Shields, and further enhanced in 2003 by a fourth octave of bells from the Shields. The Choir rings for services several times a year and for special festival occasions. Like the Cathedral Choir, membership is open.
Rehearsals: Thursdays from 5:30pm to 6:30pm
