The Cathedral Choir sings for the Sunday worship service at 10:30am, September through June, as well as for special festivals and diocesan events hosted at the cathedral. Repertoire is drawn from a rich array of sacred choral literature, from chant and Renaissance motets to modern works, spirituals and folk hymns, and music from our Anglican tradition. The choir has also premiered works composed by gifted members. Membership in the choir is open to all.
Rehearsals: Thursdays, 7:00–9:00pm

In the Anglican tradition, special choral scholars have provided vocal and musical expertise to cathedral choirs. At St. John's, we have both senior and junior choral scholars who support the volunteer singers of the Cathedral Choir and provide solo voices for more technically challenging music.
Senior Choral Scholars: Catherine Lupien, January (Jane) McKinney, Miles Provensher, Nathan Lansing
Junior Choral Scholars: Emily McKinney, Autum Tucker, Jayden Salazar
Our handbell choir was formed in 1998 with the generous gift of three octaves of handbells from Judge and Mrs. George Shields, and was further enhanced in 2003 by their gift of a fourth octave. The bell choir rings for services several times each year, and on special festival occasions. Membership is open to all.
